Branding Identity

National Urban League aims to help increase awareness, convey trust, and build brand recognition. This historic civil rights organization advocates and serves over 300 urban communities. Aiding with job and education training, housing and community development, workforce development, entrepreneurship, health, and quality of life. Guaranteeing equal civil rights for the underserved communities in America.

Approach

The National Urban League branding is meant to represent unity within a community and its people. Protecting individuals in underserved locations, preserving the culture and encouraging the community to stand together. The icon combines three human forms to make a U, emphasizing the organizations  mark in urban communities. The typeface was selected for its sharp edges and large counters, reflecting architectural/shelter like characteristics relating to National Urban League and where their mission is focused.
